For people insured by the National Health Fund, hospital stay and treatment are free of charge. However, it turns out that some facilities charge additional fees. What for? And what amount are we talking about?

A stay at a medical facility may involve additional costs. Although treatment is free, some facilities may require fees, so it is better to bring money with you. What do you have to pay for? It’s not just about access to a TV set, because there are more paid services.

The most popular additional fee that we can encounter in , is the fee for using the TV. It is usually located in every room, but to activate it you need to deposit money. Most often, each hour costs PLN 2, although this is not agreed upon and each facility can set its own amounts.

A popular solution is also a fee for and cloakrooms for patients and guests. You can often come across mandatory protective footwear or shoe covers, which you have to pay for. Most often, these amounts range from a few zlotys, but when visiting a loved one, it is worth taking some change with you.

  • 1 page of copy or printout – PLN 0.53,
  • medical documentation on an IT data carrier – PLN 3.02.
