is a cult action comedy directed by , which premiered on big screens in August 1999, achieving incredible success. The delight of the viewers who stormed the cinemas for weeks was also shared by the critics, who pointed to the suspenseful plot as one of its greatest advantages. The star cast also turned out to be important, including: Maciej Stuhr, Agnieszka Krukówna, Janusz Gajos and Adam Ferency in the main roles.
What is the “Fuks” spin-off about? The plot centers around this character
Even though the production turned out to be a hit and the viewership results exceeded the creators’ wildest expectations, the much-announced sequel was made only 25 years later. The plot of the second part of “Fuks”, unlike the original, does not focus on the fate of Aleks Stawicki (played by Maciej Stuhr), who has already grown up and become a father, but on his son Maciek ().
The 20-year-old is a perfect confirmation of the proverb “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”. He constantly gets into serious trouble, which his experienced parents help him get out of. This is also the case when you arrange a meeting with two women via an online dating application. He does not suspect that both of them have connections with a certain gangster targeted by a retired policeman (Janusz Gajos). Maciek unwittingly becomes entangled in an unpredictable game in which not only love but also huge amounts of money are at stake.
“Fuks 2” didn’t conquer cinemas, but it’s making a splash in streaming. Where can you watch the comedy?
“Fuks 2” featured a galaxy of the biggest stars. Alongside , Janusz Gajos and Maciej Musiał, who play the main characters, also appeared, among others: Tomasz Dedek, Sonia Bohosiewicz, Paulina Gałązka and Katarzyna Sawczuk. Although the production was one of the most anticipated in 2024, numerous reviews show that the creators failed to meet viewers’ expectations.
‘Fuks’ 2 is an example of cinema that desperately seeks attention, (…) simulating a return to the ‘good old days’. It strives very hard for our attention, without having anything interesting to offer, and treats the similarity to a work from years ago only as a pretext.
– wrote one of the website users. Unfavorable opinions and viewing results that left much to be desired meant that streaming was the only “rescue” and, as it turned out, it was a bull’s-eye. The film debuted on the Amazon Prime Video platform on April 16, 2024 and immediately aroused interest. Currently, it ranks second in the ranking of the most watched productions in Poland, and the only title ahead of it is the hit American series “Fallout”. If you feel like it, vote in our poll below.
