A study published on April 7, 2024 in the journal “Nutrients”, cited by the abczdrowie portal, showed that red meat may have a strong relationship with the occurrence of oral cancer. Red meat includes beef, veal, pork, lamb, mutton, horse and goat. The research was conducted on two groups of Poles whose eating habits were examined. The first of them were people aged approximately 67 years who were diagnosed with oral cancer in recent years (2022-2023). The second group included people aged approximately 53. The research team found that the increase in disease rates seen among young adults is associated with an increase in red meat consumption. It is worth noting, however, that smoking, drinking and infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV) were also important.
Researchers also concluded that there is a correlation between the way meat is prepared and processed and the incidence of oral cancer. People who consume large amounts are particularly at risk smoked delicacies compared to fried, grilled, baked or boiled meat.

Dietitians believe that several groups should be especially careful when it comes to consuming red meat in their diet.
