“Narcissus”, “The Blue Dress”, “Agnieszka’s Long Time…”, “Eyes Wide Shut” – these are just a few of the numerous titles of great hits by Adam Konkol. In 1996, the musician, together with Ania Wyszkoni, Arkadiusz Dzierżawa, Dawid Krzykała and Sławomir Mocarski, founded the group Łzy, which for several years broke popularity records in Poland and achieved further successes.
Adam Konkol, the founder of the Łzy group, is suffering from cancer
Privately, Konkol struggled with serious health problems. Konkol suffers from a syndrome of congenital heart defects that lead to pulmonary arterial hypertension. Only a thousand patients suffer from Eisenmenger syndrome in Poland. Unfortunately, this is not the end of the challenges the artist faced.
The 48-year-old musician was recently diagnosed with malignant lung cancer. The artist’s heart disease excludes typical surgery and chemotherapy. The moving news was delivered by the guitarist’s wife, with whom he recently returned from vacation.
“Life fell apart. Heart broke into millions of little pieces”
“And so our holidays are over. The carefree days are over. We are returning to Poland. And even though our life has recently resembled a fairy tale, the time of peace has passed. Things can never be perfect. Something always has to go wrong. The hardest days/months maybe there are years ahead of us. And I don’t know what to ask the Universe for now? The holidays weren’t like that as always. Not as cheerful, not as carefree. You have to come back, pull yourself together, believe that everything will be fine,” writes Angelika Konkol on social media.
