At her husband’s persuasion, she emigrated overseas. “She howled with despair.” After 2 years, she returned to the country and divorced

Agnieszka Kotulka was at the peak of her career when her husband decided that the whole family would emigrate from the country. Abroad, the actress was troubled not only by the inability to fulfill her profession, but also by the longing for her youngest child, who was left under the care of her grandparents. Finally, she put everything on one card and returned to her homeland. This brought an end to her marriage.

After graduating from high school, she successfully received the index of the Warsaw theater school. Her studies brought her not only fulfillment and the opportunity to work in her dream profession, but also love. In her second year, she met Jacek Sas-Uhrynowski, with whom she fell in love. Their relationship developed dynamically. They quickly became a couple and moved in together, and in the early 1980s they got married.

Who was Kotulanka’s husband? For him she decided to emigrate

In the acting pair, Sas-Uhrynowski played the first violin, and Kotulanka appreciated his strong character, claiming that only he was able to control her temperament. – I wanted a strong hand, someone decisive, who imposes, demands and enforces. I needed it to overcome my fears. Everything seemed simpler with Jacek – in an interview for “Sukces”. However, it is no secret that she was more successful in her profession. Even before obtaining her diploma, she started acting in films, TV series and theater, while her beloved, after his role in “CK Dezerters” by Janusz Majewski, could not find his way in the industry.

Kotulanka’s husband began to complain more and more often about the lack of development opportunities, because he believed that directors were wasting his potential and he constantly felt underestimated. In turn, she achieved success after success and was soon hailed as a rising film star. Even when their son Michał was born in 1985, and two years later their daughter Katarzyna, her career did not slow down and filmmakers had more and more offers for her. It was then that Sas-Uhrynowski decided to move to the USA.

She didn’t want to leave the country. She was lonely overseas

The catwoman wasn’t happy with this idea, but she didn’t have much to say. The couple left their youngest child with their grandparents and with their older son they went to New York, which was their first stop on the way to “fulfilling their dreams”. Already on the plane, the actress felt that she was making a mistake, which she did not fail to mention to Stanisław Górka, with whom they met overseas. – Agnieszka said goodbye to me and immediately they drove away with a screech of tires. It was a great outcry on the entire New York street. She cried so hard. She actually howled with despair in that taxi. I was paralyzed by that scream – he recalled in , adding that she decided to take this step only for the good of the family.

In Canada, where they settled, their situation did not improve. It is true that Kotulanka quickly started performing for the Polish community, but her husband did not work as a professional, but worked part-time to support the family. – I was very bothered by the monotony of life there. Canadians are not very sociable, they live locked in their homes. I missed Kasia very much – . After 2 years, she could finally afford to fly to the country to visit her daughter. It was then that she performed at the Actor’s Song Festival in Wrocław, and her success was a signal for her to change. – I realized that I belong here only – she said. She decided to return to her homeland permanently, which brought an end to her marriage, which ended in divorce after 12 years.

What happened to Agnieszka Kotulanka? The “Klan” star struggled with addiction

Sas-Uhrynowski was not particularly interested in children, so the burden of raising them rested on her shoulders. However, she did not complain about her fate and tried to reconcile her parental duties with her career development. In 1997, however, fate smiled on her, because the producers cast her in the role of Krystyna Lubicz, which gave her many opportunities and ensured a permanent source of income. Despite this, her private life was not kind to her, and she sought escape from her problems in alcohol. When she finally managed to win, she had a stroke, as a result of which she died on February 20, 2018, at the age of 62.
