Igor Calonge and Oihana Vesga will receive the Dance awards
The Association of Dance Professionals of Gipuzkoa presented today in San Sebastián the programming for this year’s Dance Month. Already on March 17, the Dance Schools Exhibition was held at the Leidor theater in Tolosa, and in April the initiatives will take place Kalean Dance (281 dancers on April 20 at 5:00 p.m. in Alderdi Eder), the Shell Railing (Sunday, April 21, at noon with 1476 participants) and the International Gala for International Dance Day (April 28 at the Victoria Eugenia theater, in two sessions, at 12:00 and 7:00 p.m.).
In this gala, the dancer Igor Calonge and the dancer Oihana Vesga They will receive the Dance prize. Calonge has a long career as a performer and is the founder of the Cielo Raso company, while Vesga works as a dancer and choreographer after completing her studies at the Maurice Ravel Conservatory in Biarritz and the London Contemporary Dance School.
This twenty-seventh edition of the International Gala for International Dance Day will have two screenings at the Victoria Eugenia, the first at 12:00 and the second at 7:00 p.m., and tickets are already on sale at the Victoria Eugenia’s own box office, the Teatro Principal and the Donostia Kultura website at 24, 18 and 10 euros.
On stage, twelve different choreographies performed by award-winning dancers and dancers Igor Calonge and Oihana Vesga, JAC Ballet, Jon Vallejo (Dresden), Hodei Iriarte, Chihiro Tamai and Manuel Sánchez (Kiev Ballet), Mikel Arana, Compagnie Illicite Bayonne Fabio López, Elephant in the Black Box contemporary dance company, Verdini Dantza Taldea and Malandain Ballet Biarritz.
