DeVaughn Walter Nixon was born in 1983, so he was 11 years old when “Bodyguard” was released in theaters. He also worked on other projects as a child, but then he took a break and went to college. For some time he worked as a broker, but he was drawn to being in front of the camera. Today he is an actor again. In one of his last television interviews, he recalled the early 1990s, when he worked with Whitney Houston. He played Fletcher Marron, the son of pop star Rachel Marron, who needed the titular bodyguard.

The actor appeared on a talk show hosted by Kelly Clarkson. – I can’t believe you’re the son from “Bodyguard” – said the host. “You’re probably tired of all the questions about this, but I have to ask about Whitney,” she added. But Nixon was happy to broach the subject. The actor said:
It was amazing. I was eight years old, so honestly, I didn’t really care about Whitney Houston at the time. That was the first time in my life I saw snow, so it was more fun for me.
“Oh my gosh, can you sing?”
– I remember one time she took me to her trailer and sang to me and I was like, oh my gosh, can you sing? Today I feel a little stupid talking about it – he added, which of course aroused a lively reaction from Clarkson, the audience and the second guest of the program – Lisa Kudrow.
Nixon lived in Los Angeles all his life, so it’s no wonder he saw snow only on the set of “Bodyguard.” The actor’s father is former basketball player Norm Nixon, whom he played in the HBO series “Lakers: Dynasty of the Winners”.
