The famous case from Żnin was reported by, among others, March 24 this year On March 23, the parish priest and vicar of the parish of St. Marcin in Żnin issued an official statement that outraged not only the local parishioners. It was addressed to the faithful who – according to priests – behave “amorally” during Lent.
The statement was published on the parish’s official, open Facebook group, “Wyborcza” reported. The daily quotes the content of the “appeal”, retaining the original spelling. The statement was written in capital letters.
WE, THE PRIESTS OF SAINT MARTIN’S PARISH IN ŻNIN, ARE SURPRISED AND APPROVED BY THE ATTITUDES DURING LENT OF SOME PARISHIANS WHO, DURING THIS HOLY TIME, NOT ONLY ORGANIZE, BUT PARTICIPATE IN DISCOTS AND OCCASIONAL PARTY’S. SUCH ATTITUDE IS AMORAL, UNEDUCATIONAL AND IS A HUGE DAMAGE TO ALL BELIEVERS
– we read. The clergy were also supposed to read them during Sunday services. The “peculiar” appeal of the priests spread widely. According to “Wyborcza”, even representatives of local authorities reacted. The mayor of Żnin, Robert Luchowski, even pointed out that there is no night disco in the area.
Priests “appalled” by parishioners dancing. There is an answer
Finally, the priests, disgusted with dancing during fasting, got an answer. It was submitted by Witold Matejuk, a resident of Lublin. The man also sent the letter to “Wyborcza”, which published it in full. The author emphasizes that it is primarily the Church that has a bad conscience, and its representatives commit acts that are much more “scandalous” than dancing during fasting.
You are issuing and reading this statement a few days after a 21-year-old boy dies in mysterious circumstances in the rectory of a priest who is a judge in the bishop’s court. What’s more, the priest is arrested on suspicion of drug possession. Doesn’t this outrage you? Isn’t he causing great scandal in your distinguished circle?
– we read in Witold Matejuk’s response. The man lists several scandalous events that have occurred in the Church recently. He mentions, among others: about Dąbrowa Górnicza.
We, as believers, have had enough of this. In Sosnowiec, a priest murdered a deacon and then committed suicide. In Dąbrowa Górnicza, priests organized a drug orgy with the participation of paid escort boys. One of the participating priests did not want to allow medical services to visit the unconscious man. In another case, a drunk priest fell over in the cemetery while conducting a funeral. The next one was arrested on charges related to financial crimes. It is difficult to count pedophile priests (…)
– he wrote.
Is it really such a scandal for you that young people dance while fasting, and not what your colleagues in the state of priesthood do? I get the impression that many of you have given your perversions and perversions the status of the norm. Did people at the dance party in the fire station cause a huge scandal? Referring to this, I would like to ask you how many people have left the Church for this reason? And how many people leave because of the endless scandals committed by Polish priests?
– he adds. The letter is longer and can be read by clicking
