Chaos on Republika TV. There was no end to the mishaps. “Where’s the drone?”

During the election evening on Republika TV, not everything went according to plan. The first mishaps occurred already in the first minutes of the broadcast.

On Sunday after 9 p.m., the number one topic in the Polish media was the local government elections. While TVP and TVN were broadcasting live from the studio, TV Republika started the election evening with a meeting in front of the station’s headquarters. In just a few minutes, the TV crew had to deal with a series of mishaps.

Failure after failure on TV Republika

The first problems appeared right after the advertising block ended. The words spoken at the end of the last spot were repeated in a loop while the opening credits of the election night were displayed on the screen. Later, the viewers saw the facade of the “Dzielna 60” building, where the headquarters of Republika TV is located. There were noises and crackles in the background, and after a while even the words of the TV crew: “Well, the drone is flying”, “But it’s standing still. Where is the drone?” and warning: “Turn off your microphone”.

After several dozen seconds, the drone’s lens turned towards the journalists and supporters of Telewizja Republika gathered in front of the building. Then the viewers could hear the words of Tomasz Sakiewicz: “We are coming in in a moment, so please get ready” and “This is our drone that is watching us.” The next shots were taken with a standard camera, but even here there were some mistakes.

While Tomasz Sakiewicz was talking about the station’s success, his microphone suddenly stopped working and his words were barely audible to the viewers. Michał Rachoń, aware of the technical problems, subtly moved his microphone to the boss, but he continued speaking into the broken device. After these events, the broadcast moved to the Republika TV studio, where Danuta Holecka talked to the guests invited to the studio: sociologist Henryk Domański and political scientist Tomasz Żukowski.
