“He died much too early and we are devastated by this loss,” he added. Schiller most recently starred in the Australian stage production of “The Lehman Trilogy,” directed by Sam Mendes, and had recently returned from Australia, and his agent said the actor was “looking forward to continuing the international tour.”

“Adrian was a wonderful actor, and the National Theater had the pleasure of working with him throughout his career,” wrote the director of the National Theater, Rufus Norris, when bidding farewell to his teammate.

Schiller played the wealthy Aethelhelm in the series “The Fall of a Kingdom”, probably the role best known to Polish viewers. The production premiered in 2015 on the BBC, then appeared on Netflix. Schiller starred in 25 of the 31 episodes.

His name also appears in the cast of, among others, “The Girl in the Portrait” (for this film Alicia Vikander won an Oscar) or in the live-action version of the animation “Beauty and the Beast” from 2017 with Emma Watson and Dan Stevens in the title roles.
