December 26, 2023 marked the first anniversary of the death of the renowned actor and director, . Although in the last months of his life he struggled with an illness that made it difficult for him to function, he did not give up his profession. He regularly appeared on the set of the series, playing the character of Wojciech Marszałek, and also ran the Kamienica Theater, of which he was the founder. Now it turns out that his future is in doubt.
The tenement house was “his life’s work”. For 10 years, Kamiński fought for the theater in court
Kamiński repeatedly called the tenement house “his life’s work” and took care of its good functioning. However, he faced many different difficulties, and the biggest challenge turned out to be the people who appeared over a decade ago, claiming rights to the building. The case took a dramatic turn when he was threatened with eviction, but he proved in court that the contracts used by the alleged owner of the premises were invalid. However, this did not end the matter, but actually became the beginning of a real fight.
After his death, in accordance with his will, his widow, Justyna Sieńńczyło, took over the management of the tenement house. In the program “Attention!” TVN revealed that although performances are still taking place, the fate of the theater is uncertain and the situation is becoming more and more serious from month to month. The actress admitted that she regularly receives threats, there was even an attempt to set the building on fire, all so that she could move the facility to another place. – There were threatening phone calls, there were threats that something would happen to me or the boys. A man came to the theater and left a cloth on fire near one of the toilets. We also had a situation where a person entered our office on the second floor and broke the bells – in the report by the couple’s children.
The future of the Kamienica Theater is in doubt. Kamiński’s widow revealed the reason
Despite many adversities, Sieńczło does not want to give up without a fight, because when he was on his deathbed, she promised to “do everything to save the stage” and she intends to keep her word. – Unfortunately, her husband did not live to see the end of this court battle – in “Rewia”, adding that now the responsibility for securing the future of the theater rests on her shoulders. – We recently celebrated the 15th anniversary of the theater. The Tenement House hosted a performance about Emilian combined with the premiere of the book “Emilian Kamiñski. Director of Dreams”. But the further operation of the theater is still uncertain, she admitted regretfully, adding that the businessman is doing everything he can to take over the building in order to make his own investments there.
As she confessed, three hearings in this case were to be held just before this year’s Easter holidays, but two of them were postponed to April. – The first concerns the invalidation of notarial deeds on the basis of which the “businessman” will receive free attics in the building where the theater is located. The second is a case involving criminal charges from the prosecutor’s office, also regarding the defense of the theater – Sieńńczyło revealed and emphasized that she would make every effort to maintain the splendor of this place for both her husband and the audience.
