A new date was established for the elections that will define the new board of directors of the House of Culture Núcleo del Guayas (CCNG). This was confirmed to this newspaper Miguel Palacios Frugone, president of the Provincial Electoral Board CCE-NG, who announced and assured that finally the Tuesday, December 28, the democratic process will be carried out in the facilities of the National Electoral Council headquarters. Palacios affirms that the resolution was made public yesterday afternoon, after the elections were suspended last Thursday, December 9, 2021 because the CCNG does not have the updated biosafety protocols required by the Municipality, such as the Fire Department permits, operations plan, insurance policies, among others.

He mentioned that his job now is to ensure that the electoral process is carried out in the most transparent way possible. “With the press present, especially with the overseers of the Citizen Participation Council who have been present at all the events that we have carried out”, said Palacios, who has been in office since last October 20.
He pointed out that in the review that the Electoral Board must do, three pre-candidate lists were disqualified for not complying with the enabling documents required by them. “There were seven candidates to be directors of the House of Culture, Núcleo del Guayas; we did a review with lawyers and with the statutes of the House of Culture and with the Constitution of the Republic, and of those seven candidates, three candidacies were rejected ”, Palacios explained.
They did not qualify and therefore the lists of Luis Fernando Naranjo Espinoza, Andrea Crespo Granda and Ermel Aguirre. In this way, the candidate lists that continue to aspire to the direction of the House of Culture, Núcleo del Guayas, are those of Martha Rizzo González, Miguel Cantos Díaz, Ibsen Hernández Valencia and Virgilio Aray Valverde.
“If someone does not agree with not having been qualified, they have every right to say that they do not agree and they can argue as much as they want to do it … it is part of democracy”, indicated the public official, reaffirming that this will not stop the December 28 elections and that they will continue with the electoral agenda that includes the official presentation of the list, the electoral campaign and electoral silence; all in seven days.
He said that at the moment they do not have an established schedule for the electoral process, however, he assured that they will make it “as long as possible so that the members of the RUAC can vote at the most convenient time.”
