When asked about the greatest villain from the Harry Potter universe, most would choose Voldemort. The exception is Stephen King. He wrote in the review that an even worse character appeared in the fifth part. He compared her to Hannibal Lecter.

“Harry Potter” is a series of seven fantasy novels by JK Rowling. They were published from 1997 to 2007. In the meantime, it was decided to transfer this story to the screen. In November 2001, the first film: “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” premiered. Later, more films were successively released in cinemas. The main plot of each part was the fight between wizards and the wizard Voldemort.

What was Voldemort like? His real name was Tom Riddle

From the beginning, Voldemort is presented as the greatest enemy of Harry and his friends. He killed Potter’s parents and planned to kill him too. In the first parts of the film, Voldemort is so feared that the characters are afraid to say his name. They call him “the one who must not be named” or “you know who”. Ralph Fiennes played this character in the films and fans around the world think he did it perfectly. There are also other villains in “Harry Potter”, such as Bellatrix Lestrange, Lucius Malfoy, Peter Pettigrew and Professor Quirrell. According to Stephen King, there is another hero who arouses fear and anxiety. This is a woman who appeared in the book “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix”, the fifth part.

Professor Umbridge is worse than Voldemort? That’s what Stephen King says

The American magazine “” asked King to review the fifth part. The writer specializes in horror literature and is the author of horror stories that have become classics of the genre, e.g. “Pet Sematary” and “The Shining”. He wrote that a fantasy novel cannot exist without a great villain. According to him, the greatest villain is Dolores Umbridge, the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. She was played by Imelda Staunton in the films.

The delicately smiling Dolores Umbridge, with her girlish voice, toad-like face and clenched, stubby fingers, is the greatest mock villain to appear since Hannibal Lecter.

– Stephen admitted. He added that the teacher was so terrifying that they were afraid to go to school later, fearing that they might meet someone like that on their way. This character was irritating and interesting to him at the same time. He wanted her to learn a lesson and turned the pages impatiently.
