The Bilbao Fantastic Film Festival (Fant) will deliver in its thirtieth edition, which will be held between May 3 and 11, to the Bilbao film director Pedro Olea his FANTastic Star Awardand a Fant de Honor to the actor Javier Botet.

Born in Bilbao, Olea has a wide cinematographic repertoire and his career in the industry includes having filmed genre films such as It’s not good for the man to be alone (1973), The house without borders (1972) and The Wolf Forest (1970), among others.

In addition, Fant will award a Fant of Honor to the actor Javier Botet for his roles in films such as REC (2007), The Scarlet Summit (2015), The rebornor (2015), Warren File: The Enfield Case (2016), Alien: Covenant (2017), The invisible guardian (2017), The Mummy (2017), ITEM (2017) and Insidious: the last key (2018), among many others.

This year the Fantastic Film Festival will feature for the first time with a young jury which, in collaboration with the Basque Country Film School, will award one of the awards for Best Feature Film in the Official Section.

He official section jury It is formed by the screenwriter Ana Hormaetxeathe director of the Imagine Fantastic Film Festival in Amsterdam, Chris Oosterom; and the producer and member of the Spanish Film Academy, Araceli Péres-Rastrilla.
