After her father’s death, she left school and took up music. Now he can win Eurovision

Will Angelina Mango steal the show at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest? Some fans of this musical show ask themselves this question. There are many indications that it will be the 22-year-old who will fight the representative of Croatia who is expected to win in Malmo. Although today she is at the threshold of her career, a few years ago her future was in doubt.

Angelina Mango will represent Italy in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The 22-year-old singer will perform in Malmo with the hit “La Noia”, which is often tipped as the winner, right next to “Rim Tim Tagi Dim” performed by the Croatian representative Baba Lasagna. Although the young singer now has a chance to become an international star, her life has not always been a bed of roses. Painful experiences from his youth put Mango’s future in doubt for some time.

From a talent show to Eurovision

Angelina Mango was born on April 10, 2001 in Maratea. The artist is the daughter of singer Laura Valente and Giuseppe Mango, a famous Italian singer and songwriter. Growing up in a musical family, Angelina mastered playing the piano and guitar, and first appeared on stage alongside her father when she was only 10 years old. In 2015, Giuseppe Mango had a heart attack during one of his concerts. The artist was taken to hospital, but his life could not be saved.

This incident devastated teenage Angelina, who decided to drop out of high school. The singer returned to school only two years later, when she moved to Milan. It was in the capital of fashion that Angelina once again tried her hand at the stage. In the meantime, she studied and worked as a babysitter. Four years later, she released her debut single “Va tutto bene”.

However, it was her performance in the Italian talent show “Amici di Maria De Filippi” that brought her fame, in which she took second place. In 2023, she released her first album titled “Voglia di vivere”, and a little later the song “Che t’o dico a fa”, which went triple platinum. Following the inspiration, the young singer entered the Sanremo competition, in which she won thanks to the jurors’ votes.

In 2024, Mango was announced as that year’s representative of Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest. The 22-year-old artist looks really promising in the charts. Many people believe that it is the biggest competition for Baba Lasagna from Croatia.
