It turns out that there is one way to guarantee bananas stay fresh for up to 15 days, using one product that we all have access to in our homes – water. A TikTok user named Dustin Hadley conducted an experiment in a video on his account @that40yearguy, in which he submerged the stems of one bunch of bananas in water and left them next to another bunch for a week.

The experiment was a success, the bananas stayed fresh thanks to the water

Dustin actually returned to his bananas 12 days later and was amazed to discover that the bananas submerged in water were much fresher than those left alone. The bananas in the water were still covered in brown spots as they were still ripe, but they were firm and firm. However, the bananas left out of the water completely disintegrated.

Water will keep your bananas fresh for up to two weeks

If you buy bananas when they are green and store them using the water method, they can survive for more than 15 days. However, if this solution does not work for you, a reliable method is to use food foil. All you need to do is wrap foil around the banana stem to keep them fresh for longer.
