Conference or circus? It’s hard to say. Kaleta and Jaki jumped into action. “Don’t disturb me”

The investigation into the use of funds is currently a hot topic in the media. On March 26, 2024, the first search of the homes of politicians of the former government took place. At the request of the prosecutor’s office, ABW officers knocked on the doors of as many as 25 people, including the former Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General.

Shortly after the search, the spokesman for the prosecutor’s office revealed that in Ziobro’s house they found, among others, original files related to the proceedings regarding his father’s death. As explained, keeping this type of documents is an abuse of powers and therefore consequences should be drawn from it. The validity of this accusation, as well as the entire search, became the subject of discussion during the press conference of Sovereign Poland, which took place on March 28, 2024.

The atmosphere was high from the very beginning, and politicians had a unanimous stance on the matter. – “Bodnarists” attacked the house of Minister Zbigniew Ziobro during his serious illness. They taped up the cameras, destroyed the house and took the tablets from his children – Kaleta was outraged. – Is this a rule of law? Is this a European, smiling country? – he thundered, calling the whole incident not a search but a “prowling” of the services. When asked about what else had been discovered, he replied ironically. – Evidence has been found that Elvis Presley is alive – the MP mocked.

However, journalists did not give up and continued the topic. The constantly recurring question about documents found at home aroused particular controversy and outrage among MPs who were unable to provide a substantive answer. Perseverance in pursuing this issue was demonstrated by, among others, Radomir Wit from TVN24, which ultimately infuriated Jaki. – Don’t bother me for a moment. You’re asking questions that you won’t let me answer, you’re going to shout, he shouted, waving his arms. After a while, he added that he was trying to get to the bottom of the problem, but the constant use of words prevented him from doing so.

Kaleta also did not hide his outrage, addressing the journalists in a harsh manner. – Do you have basic logical reasoning skills? – he asked angrily. – This is all you have left from this scandal. The fact that you spent half an hour asking about this briefcase only shows what we were talking about: media cover for the failed operation of the “Bodnarists” – he shouted into the microphone, unable to control his emotions. He stated that instead of continuing to circle around the topic, which is only a cover for other activities of the services, journalists should be interested in, for example, documents containing the election strategy of the United Right, which was also confiscated by the Internal Security Agency. – It’s strange that you don’t ask whether we are outraged that such documents were secured. I am shocked, said the MP.
