Arnold Schwarzenegger has an implanted pacemaker. I joke about it now

Arnold Schwarzenegger gave fans an update after heart surgery. The 76-year-old actor and former governor of California shared a photo from his recovery period and jokes about his new pacemaker.

“I have received many nice messages from all over the world, but many people have asked if my pacemaker will cause any problems in the second season of ‘FUBAR’. Absolutely not,” Schwarzenegger wrote in a post on Thursday afternoon. He assured that he would be ready to work in April on subsequent episodes of the Netflix production.

Arnold Schwarzenegger: I’ve become more of a machine

In the photo, Schwarzenegger jokes about a pacemaker, replacing it with a dummy bomb. The device was implanted during a recent surgery on Monday. He admitted that talking about such matters “goes against a lot of my upbringing in Austria, where no one ever talked about medical problems. Everything related to health care was kept to themselves.” He explained that the surgery was intended to cure a bicuspid aortic valve, a heart defect with which the actor was born. He had previously undergone heart surgery, the first of which was in 1997.

The actor admitted that the disease he lives with led to the death of his mother and grandmother. His mother did not agree to valve replacement surgery. The actor emphasized that he is still alive thanks to the achievements of modern medicine. Referring to one of his most famous roles, “The Terminator”, sharing information about the procedure with fans, Schwarzenegger joked:

I had pacemaker surgery and became more of a machine.

The actor urges: take care of yourself

The actor’s medical team told him that scars from previous surgeries were affecting his heart rhythm. Therefore, another procedure had to be performed.

– I know many of you are probably struggling with your own health issues and I want you to know that you are not alone. If you put off taking action out of fear, I hope I can inspire you to listen to your doctors and take care of yourself, he added seriously.
