On Wednesday evening, a pre-election debate of candidates for the mayor of Warsaw took place. The TVP studio was attended by Rafał Trzaskowski from the Civic Coalition, Magdalena Biejat from the Left, Przemysław Wipler from Confederation, Tobiasz Bocheński from Law and Justice, Romuald Starosielec from Ruch Naprawy Polski, and Janusz Korwin-Mikke, running for Non-Party. It was the last politician’s statements that aroused the most emotions. One of them ended with a warning from the moderator of the debate, Joanna Dunikowska-Pa¼.
Warsaw Debate on TVP. Janusz Korwin-Mike attacked the hosts
The politician did not shy away from sarcastic comments directed at the current president of Warsaw. At one point, he even threw a cricket at Rafał Trzaskowski and called him a communist. However, it was Janusz Korwin-Mikke’s answer to the question about the introduction of night prohibition in Warsaw that broke the camel’s back. “I don’t see the slightest connection between security and the night prohibition, so I won’t answer such a stupid question,” he said, and then began to talk about the regime in North Korea and the government of Rafał Trzaskowski.
“Is it Kim Jong Un who is blocking us from driving? He is putting up bollards where we can’t park?… No, it’s the communist who wants to take away our driving licenses!” – the politician thundered, but after a while Dunikowska-Pa¼ admonished him: “We would like to remind you that the questions are very specific and we ask you to answer them and treat each other with respect” – exhorted the host of “19:30” on TVP .
