Cavill most recently starred in Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. This is a story inspired by real events. The action of the spy comedy takes place during World War II, and the script was based on the book “Churchill’s Secret Warriors: The Explosive True Story of the Special Forces Desperadoes of WWII” by Damien Lewis. Of course, in the film we will see a very colorful version of the already amazing story of the special unit created in 1940 on the initiative of Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
Henry Cavill fights Nazis and saves his colleagues on the set
The heroes of the film are a secret group responsible for espionage and sabotage in Nazi-occupied Europe. Ritchie focused on Operation Postmaster. In 1942, the 62nd Commando, under the orders of the Special Operations Directorate, went to the neutral Spanish island of Fernando Po to seize Italian and German ships sheltering there.
The cast of the film included not only Henry Cavill, but also Alan Ritchson, Henry Golding, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Cary Elwes and Eiza González. According to Pettyfer, Cavill saved his life during filming. – He saved me from falling out of the boat – the actor told ETonline. -I almost drowned! So I can officially say that Henry saved me. And I’m very grateful to be with you in this film, he added.
The world premiere of the film is scheduled for April. We don’t know the Polish date yet. The authors of the script are Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson, Arash Amel and Ritchie himself.
