“Pirates of the Caribbean 6” without Johnny Depp? The creators announce a reboot of the series

Work on the 6th part of “Pirates of the Caribbean” is underway. Disney announces major changes in the plot and cast of the beloved film series. There are many indications that we will no longer see Jack Sparrow in the new part.

We heard about a decade ago that “Pirates of the Caribbean” would return to the screen. And although the creators of the popular film series have still not managed to produce the next, 6th part, quite a lot is already known about their plans.

“Pirates of the Caribbean” will return to the screen. The creators want to restart the series

Over the last few years, there has been talk about Disney’s lofty plans for the production of “Pirates of the Caribbean 6”. Johnny Depp was originally supposed to reprise his role as the main character. However, the producers were dissuaded from this idea by accusations of domestic violence and the actor’s high-profile divorce trial.

A little later, information about the production of two separate productions set in the pirate universe appeared in the media. One of them was to star Margot Robbie, the other was to tell the story of the younger generation of pirates. Ultimately, the producers decided to implement the second idea. Jerry Bruckheimer revealed that the 6th part of “Pirates of the Caribbean” will be a reboot of the entire series. This means that we will see completely new actors in the main roles.

The creators have not completely ruled out Johnny Depp’s participation, which means that the actor may appear in the production as an episodic character. The script for the new part of “Pirates of the Caribbean” is written by Craig Mazin, who recently also worked on the HBO hit “The Last of Us”. Ted Elliott, who wrote the scripts for the first four films about the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow, is also involved in the project.
