On Monday, March 27, 2006, everything changed for the country’s viewers: laSexta was born and was here to stay. This Wednesday 18 years have passed since that first broadcast which inaugurated a new way of making television and in which we bet on information and entertainment.

Emilio Aragonthen president of the chain, was in charge of giving official start to broadcasts. Accompanied after Florentino Fernandez, Both of them outlined the initial programming of the network, with a great variety of content and the announcement that laSexta would broadcast free-to-air on Germany 2006 World Cup.

Among the first programs that we were able to enjoy then were Habitat 623 presented by Olga Viza, Los unrepeables with Emilio Aragón, El Show de Flo, presented by Florentino Fernández, Sé lo que haceis…, with Patricia Conde and Ángel Martín, and with a quarry of collaborators like Cristina Pedroche, Rober Bodegas and Alberto Casado. Another program that he started then was The intermediate presented by Greater Wyoming and which is among the longest running on current television.

In this video we show you how that journey that led us to come of age on March 27 began.
