How much should you put on your Easter tray? Many believers consider a monetary offering to be an obligation and every Sunday they put at least a symbolic zloty into the basket. Some people do not regret donations at all and willingly, and sometimes even ostentatiously, throw banknotes there. According to the data from 2021, on average we spend about PLN 36 per month on the tray. This amount has been gradually increasing for years: in 2014 it was PLN 23.10, in 2011 – PLN 21.30, and in 2008 – PLN 20.20. But what does it look like for the holidays? How much should you put on your Easter tray?
How much should you put on your Easter tray?
The position of the Church is known to all believers. We give as much as we please, i.e. as much as we think is right. However, sometimes it is difficult to determine how much money we should put in. If we give too little, we may feel that we have not done enough for our parish. If too much, we may have to give up some other expense in the near future, because we will not have enough money for everything. It is worth analyzing these issues and checking how much money we will feel comfortable with.
“No exaggeration to give some bimbalions on a tray”
If we want to share anything with our parish at all. Opinions are divided. We asked several people who agreed to anonymously comment on the need for this article how much to give on the Easter tray. Below we present their answers. And these are really different.
How much should you put on your Easter tray? I have everything written down precisely. Every Sunday I give PLN 5 to the tray. And if there are holidays, weddings, baptisms or communions in the family, then more. I even give PLN 50 for these family celebrations. For holidays, usually on the 20th.
I go to church, but without exaggerating to give some bimbalions on a plate. Nobody gives me anything, nobody exempts me from taxes. Sorry, but if you have it, you can give. I do not have.
I go to church regularly and I always look into this basket when the altar boy walks between the pews. Let me tell you, there was a time when it was full of zlotys and deutsch coins – you could hear the altar boy walking, they strummed like that. Today he shows up unexpectedly because you can’t hear anything. However, a weight would be useful in this basket, because there are only banknotes. And not tens of thousands, but fifties and hundreds. It makes my heart happy. But I also see who contributes how much. Older people don’t regret their fifties and hundreds of years. And the young ones? They will spend some coins and be happy. Normally I feel ashamed for them.
And what does it look like for you? Do you already know how much to put on your Easter tray? Or maybe you will forgive your donation to the parish? We are curious about your opinions.
