“It turns out that, even if you know the original book, we managed to create eight episodes that keep you in suspense, slowly provide information, and when it comes to what, even though you already know what will happen, it is visually delicious and emotionally engaging,” writes Magda Walma from Gazeta.pl in her review of the series.

The rather complicated plot of the series involves a young woman whose decision made in the 1960s influences the actions of future scientists. The security of the entire world rests on the shoulders of experts, as they must face the greatest threat in the history of mankind. To give the Chinese novel an international flavor, the series featured a diverse cast.

There were also mentions of distinguished Poles. Jin Cheng, played by Jess Hong, calls her character Nicolaus Copernicus after joining the network game. “Jin chose someone who tried to understand the universe. She was told that she had to guess the secrets of the cosmos herself, so the first thing that came to her mind was the name of a great scientist from the past,” quotes the creators of the series Wirtualna Polska.

In turn, in the sixth episode, StanisÅ‚aw Ulam’s name appears on the screen. Jin Cheng tells the rest of the scientists, drawing a plan on the board, that he intends to use the idea for a nuclear pulse drive. Ulam was a famous Polish mathematician, co-creator of the American thermonuclear bomb. He was also one of the first scientists to use a computer in his work.
