On March 18, Agnieszka Romaszewska was fired from her position as head of Belsat. According to reports from Wirtualne Media, the station’s director received cash awards worth nearly PLN 100,000 over the last year.

Polish Television dismissed the director of TV Belsat, Agnieszka Romaszewska. The reason for this decision was a “gross failure to comply with work regulations and other regulations applicable at the employer and proper performance of duties.” Although Romaszewska said goodbye to the station only on March 18, she announced her job loss a week earlier.

The journalist stated that she was first persuaded to leave voluntarily, and when she refused, she was given a notice of termination. “Well, TVP improved my dismissal a bit, and today I was given a disciplinary dismissal,” Agnieszka Romaszewska wrote on the X portal. In an interview with Wirtualna Polska, she admitted that after losing her job, she had no means of subsistence.

According to Onet’s reports, in 2023 Agnieszka Romaszewska received awards from her superior in the amount of PLN 35,000 and PLN 66,334. In February, the director-editor-in-chief of TV Belsat was supposed to earn PLN 22,000.

As reported unofficially by the Wirtualne Media portal, last year Telewizja Polska and MZW paid PLN 89 million for the maintenance of the Belsat TV station. A year ago it was supposed to be 65 million, and in 2021 it was 47 million.

This is not the first time that Agnieszka Romaszewska was dismissed as the head of Belsat TV. In 2009, the decision to dismiss the journalist was made by the then president of TVP, Piotr FarfaƂ. Agnieszka Romaszewska was reinstated as director after a week.
