“Rojst”. Filip Pławiak speaks in Fronczewski’s voice, but Fronczewski does not provide voice acting. How did they do it?

Filip Pławiak in “Rojst. Millenium” played a younger version of the character played by Piotr Fronczewski for many episodes. What idea did the creators of the Netflix production have for the hero’s voice?

Fronczewski played the role of the Manager in three seasons of “Rojst”, and in the third season the creators showed us his past in more detail. Here comes Filip Pławiak, who is well known to fans of “Chyłka” (he played Zordon) and who can currently be seen in cinemas in “White Courage”. A similar physiognomy made it easier for him to play the younger version of Kociołek. However, the creators had to consider what to do with this character’s characteristic voice.

Filip Pławiak: Even before the shooting began, Janek Holoubek had an idea to do some things

Piotr Fronczewski is an actor who can be recognized literally after a moment thanks to his characteristic voice. Some viewers would probably get used to the fact that Pławiak’s Cauldron sounds different after a while, but such a change would certainly be difficult for many people to cope with. The filmmakers decided not to use the opportunity to dub Pławiak by Fronczewski, but to try another option.

– Even before the shooting began, Janek Holoubek had an idea to try something different. As he himself said, it is such a characteristic voice that it is difficult to completely distance yourself from it – says Pławiak in Meloradi and adds:

We used artificial intelligence. What we hear on the screen is a mix of my voice with hours of recordings by young Piotr Fronczewski, so everything I played on the set, every line, with these emotions and intentions, was mixed with Mr. Piotr’s voice.

In “Roj¶cie Millenium” we learn the further fate of Anna Jass (Magdalena Różczka), Witold Wanycz (Andrzej Seweryn), Adam Mika (Łukasz Simlat), Piotr Zarzycki (Dawid Ogrodnik) and the hotel manager (Piotr Fronczewski), Nadia (Agnieszka Żulewska) , or Dzidzia (Michał Pawlik). Apart from Pławiak, the new actors include: Janusz Gajos and Tomasz Schuchardt.
