What to do when orchid flowers fall? Pour it into a pot after lunch. This is the only salvation

Orchids are one of the most popular potted flowers. They are beautiful and a great decoration for any windowsill, but sometimes they start to lose their flowers. What is the reason for this? And how to help the plant?

Orchids are a type of perennial plants that come in a variety of beautiful colors. Depending on the species, they may grow as a tall stem or as a branched clump of leaves. The most popular variety is phalenopsis and although it has a unique appearance, it can be capricious, so you need to pay special attention to care when growing it, otherwise it may start losing flowers.

Why does an orchid have wilted flowers? There may be several reasons

Orchids grow best in well-lit places, but protected from drafts. They don’t cope well with low temperatures, so if they get too cold, they may drop their flowers or even wilt. The reason for the poor condition of orchids may also be improper watering, which leads to the buds falling and turning yellow. Remember that the plant should not have constantly wet soil and prefers watering less often than often. However, it is worth spraying them regularly.

Not everyone knows that these plants react poorly to fruit. If there is a bowl with plums, citrus fruits, bananas, mangos or peaches nearby, we better move it quickly. These fruits release ethene, which causes the flowers to fall off.

What to do when orchid flowers fall? Use this homemade fertilizer and you will quickly save the plant

If you do not experience any of the above-mentioned reasons and the flowers fall off and are dry, it is a sign that the problem is in fertilization. In the case of orchids, you don’t have to use ready-made mixtures. Homemade fertilizer made from water will work great. It contains B vitamins, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and silicon, which will help the plant grow and improve flowering, and thus prevent the flowers from falling off. All you need to do is leave the water after cooking the rice to cool down, and when it is cool, you can water the flowers with it. Jasmine or brown rice water is best for this purpose.
