It turns out that the Baron is visiting his grandmother in Skolimów, an actress known from such films as “Darkest Season”, “Funny Holidays” or “How to Be Loved”. How did she get there? It turns out that Marlena Milwiw-Baron narrowly avoided death.
Whose grandson is the Baron? His grandmother was a successful theater actress
Marlena Milwiw-Baron was born in 1931. She graduated from the State Theater School in Warsaw, but before receiving her diploma, she already performed on the stage of the theater in the capital in a drama by Leon Kruczkowski. A few years later, she moved to Wrocław, where she worked at the Wrocław Contemporary Theater and was a lecturer at the Academy of Music.
She married a writer from Lviv, Adam Baron. Although she played in several film productions, she remained faithful to the theater all her life. — For me, acting is theater. A film means waiting, there are lights, and the actor comes last. Film is money. A few days in a movie is a month’s wage at the theater. For me, the most important thing is theater. This is unique – in one of the interviews.
Marlena Milwiw-Baron lives in a nursing home for artists in Skolimów. “It’s a great place”
she had been struggling with heart problems for years. She has a pacemaker installed and also suffered from sepsis, and doctors did not give her much chance of survival. She managed to recover, but was forced to say goodbye to her professional career. However, as it turns out, Marlena Milwiw-Baron did not move to Skolimów of her own free will. — I was brought here from the hospital in a state of complete unconsciousness. It took me a few weeks to come back to life. (…) I only felt good when I moved to Skolimów, she admitted. The artist explained that she feels very good in the Artists’ House. She has a beautiful apartment and care. – It’s like I’m living in the middle of nowhere here. It is a great place, she added.
