Before Mikołaj Roznerski became one of the most sought-after Polish actors, his life was unfortunately not a bed of roses. When he was only 13 years old, his parents decided to divorce him, and he himself fell ill. He talked about what happened later in “Dobry weekly”.
His parents’ divorce was a blow to him. Roznerski recalls the most difficult moment
As Roznerski recalls, there was always a lack of money in the family budget, and living in modest conditions often caused him complexes: “There was no money at home. I was ashamed that we lived in an old, former German house, that we had a worn-out Nysa. Because of this, I felt ashamed worse. When my dad took me to school, I asked him to stop a street away,” he told “Dobrego weekly”.
For young Mikołaj, his parents’ divorce was a traumatic experience. The actor was unable to cope with the departure of his mother and siblings. Then he fell ill: “I fell into anorexia, I spent a year in the hospital. I almost starved myself to death,” he said in an interview. The situation improved when Roznerski left for Wrocław. He attended one of the schools there and spent weekends alternately with both parents.
Although his father did not show much tenderness towards the actor, he never doubted his love: “I don’t remember him hugging me or reading me bedtime stories. But I know he loved me very much.” His relationship with his mother was slightly different. Dorota Bieniarz was an avant-gardist, standing out from other parents. Its unusual appearance has always attracted the attention of passers-by, which, according to Roznerski, is admirable.
Today, Mikołaj Roznerski is one of the most popular Polish actors. He has just said goodbye to his role in “For better and for worse”, and will soon appear in “We will live together”. He is also still working on the set of “M jak miłość”.
