They got married in 1929, and three years later their son, Władysław, was born. However, the great love he had for her did not change his approach to romance. In society, he was constantly considered a womanizer and eagerly flirted with new women he met. Even Elżbieta Barszczewska, a good friend of his second wife and also the life partner and mother of the child of his friend, Marian Warzykowski, could not resist his charm.

Hańcza and Barszczewska met just after World War II when they joined the cast of the Polish Theater. Although the actor made advances towards her from the beginning, constantly adoring her, she remained faithful to her husband and sent him away every time. Everything changed when in the 1950s they were cast in Juliusz Słowacki’s romantic drama. The passion they had to create on stage quickly spread off it, turning into . This, in turn, was to be accomplished without any major difficulties. Ultimately, however, both she and Hańcza ended their extramarital relations, forgiving each other’s betrayals. They were together until the actor’s death in November 1977.
