The Zinemastea festival closed its 40th edition this afternoon, rewarding the best works of Basque cinema. 20,000 species of bees and bees have been chosen by the jury and the public as the best films. Likewise, the Vital Foundation has granted a Special Award to José Luis Ramos for his role as promoter of the festival in 1985.

The work of Arantxa Echevarria, Chinese, has been the public’s favorite and has won the award given by the viewers. The professional jury has awarded 20,000 species of bees as best film. The rest of the prizes have gone to Jaione Camborda (O Horn), best direction; Victor Erice and Michel Gaztambide (Close the eyes), best screenplay; Alberto Ammann (Upon Entry), best lead performance, and Elena Tarrats (The good companies), best supporting performance.

In addition, a special mention was awarded to the film The sultana’s dreamdirected by Isabel Herguera, with animation by Eduardo Elosegi.

Nearly 3,000 spectators have been able to enjoy the best works of Basque cinema for 9 days. In total, 11 films have been screened. The movies 20,000 species of bees, Chinese, Close the eyes, The good companies and The sultana’s dream has the participation of EITB.
