Euskaraz irakurri: “Sexberdinak” lanak irabazi du Donostia Antzerki Saria

The play Sexberdinakstarring the actors Telmo Irureta and Aitziber Garmendia, has won the XXIV edition of the Donostia Antzerki Saria Award, organized by the Basque Language Service of the San Sebastián City Council and Donostia Kultura.

This award recognizes “the best play for adult audiences in Basque performed in 2023 by a professional company in the city.” The winning company Tanttaka will receive 12,000 euros and a painting by Aitor Ruiz de Egino.

The award ceremony will be on March 27, International Theater Day, at the Victoria Eugenia theater, at 7:30 p.m. At the beginning of the event, the award will be presented and, later, the winning work will be performed.

Last year, 11,308 spectators attended the 44 theater performances for adults offered in Basque in the city of Gipuzkoa.
‘Sexberdinak’ deals with the theme of integration by combining comedy and drama. The Donostia Antzerki Saria jury has decided to award the play because it addresses the issue of functional diversity “in a very appropriate way and with an excellent result thanks to the work of the couple of actors, the direction and the good use of resources scenographic”.
