– I extremely respect Dawid’s artistic work, I respect his roles, his constructions, it’s fantastic. He gives us an example of how to construct. And I love the person, with his sincerity. Besides, we all change. This young man is changing too. He was different when we met on the set of “The Last Family” (…) We were just a duo (…) We understood each other well and it was he who made sure that there was no relationship between the “older man” and the younger one, only we were indeed partners. I’m not even talking about artistic matters, but about life. For example, I started using a different language at work because I was influenced by this young man – Andrzej Seweryn told us during the interview. You can watch the entire conversation in the video below:
Dawid Ogrodnik and Andrzej Seweryn talk about the third season of “Rojst”
The action of the third season of “Rojst” takes place two years after the events of the previous series. It seems like not much, but a lot has changed in the meantime. Certainly in the life of Piotr Zarzycki (Dawid Ogrodnik), who managed to get a divorce and go through another trauma with his entire family. When we meet him again, he finds solace after the breakup with Teresa in the arms of Joanna Drewicz (Vanessa Aleksander), with whom his daughter Wanda (Wanda Marzec) does not really want to get along. The girl also goes through a difficult time and gets into trouble. Meanwhile, their family problems unexpectedly become part of the last investigation before retirement by Mika (Łukasz Simlat), who quickly comes up with the idea that he will need the help of Anna Jass (Magdalena Różczka). She unexpectedly ends up in a hospital in a city she would rather forget. Like it or not, Zarzycki will have to turn to her for help, which Joanna will encourage him to do.
It so happens that young Drewicz, the sister of the victim from the first season of “Rojst”, is an archaeologist who conducts excavations in the forest in Gronty. One day, he digs up the skeleton of a woman, which is definitely different from the other bodies in the mass graves. The new prosecutor (Piotr Głowacki), who calls a press conference and talks about the bodies, decides to use this discovery for his political purposes. The hotel manager (Piotr Fronczewski) watches the report from the meeting and, disgusted, calls the editor Wanycz (Andrzej Seweryn) to invite him to his birthday party that same evening. Because she has a mysterious letter for him from the past, although she doesn’t want to say who it’s from. When the editor arrives on site, it turns out that things have quickly become complicated – this is the outline of the introduction to the action in the new season, which can be watched on Netflix from February 28.
– Wanycz is retreating (…), even though he knows his stuff. He is closing his story (…) I look at it with such melancholy because when I look at the history of Wanycz, but also of Piotr and other characters, and I observe them in the 1940s, 1960s and so on, I think that it would be worth it the young viewer thought about this film, also thinking about time, that his time was numbered. Don’t let him think that this youth will last forever. I would say that it will only last for a while. Just like Konrad, who says in the Great Improvisation in Mickiewicz’s “Forefathers’ Eve” that what is our life? Just a spark, just a second. So, from “Rojst” by Janek Holoubek to Mickiewicz – Andrzej Seweryn tells us about his hero and his evolution.
– There is also the following text: Comet of error! Where does your momentum end? Without end, without end! I think this defines Piotr Zarzycki’s character a bit, that there comes a moment of the now less popular word of reassessment, when we have to reconsider our life and draw conclusions. These consequences come, no matter how prosaic they are, no matter how they are taken with the current of events, there comes a moment when we will have to pay for them anyway. I think that this character is written very wisely in the third season – Dawid Ogrodnik agrees.
– Over the years, I stopped distinguishing between Andrzej and Wanycz. This is one person for me, and I often had the impression that both Andrzej and Wanycz were trying to warn me against something, trying to tell me something between their words, that they were keeping a secret, but they did not want to reveal it to me. I respect this very much in Andrzej, but also in the character of Wanycz, that if I were to put Wanycz here and Andrzej Seweryn next to it, I had two people, I would love one of them equally and I would love the other equally – says Dawid Ogrodnik about his relationship with Andrzej Seweryn. – What Dawid says is extraordinary, because here you can see how the personal spheres intertwine with the artistic spheres – commented the actor who plays the role of editor Wanycz.
– I like the clarity of Andrzej’s words because he uses a language that is often rare for me. It draws attention to certain values and content of words. I appreciate this very much as a human being and I didn’t pay attention to it before. And today it matters to me. Earlier, I saw Andrzej getting angry at various behaviors that were indifferent to me, and then I thought to myself: damn, if I don’t start paying attention to it, soon we will all be talking like that, with the same language. Although I used colloquial language towards Andrzej, added Ogrodnik.
– And I took over this language and it gave me pleasure, because we talked about it from time to time. I would say so, it was agreed (…) I am depraved by Dawid Ogrodnik – Andrzej Seweryn laughs.
