In 1983, right after completing compulsory education and successfully passing the high school leaving exam, he began studies at the University of Warsaw, majoring in Iranian studies, although initially he dreamed of becoming a Japanese teacher. He learned the new language quite quickly and a year later he started working as a translator. Later, he went on a research scholarship to Afghanistan and took a job at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Few know that professional work was not the most important part of his life. In his free time he devoted himself to his greatest passion, i.e. At the same time as he started his studies at university, he joined the band of his high school friend, Piotr Klatt. Despite many successes, after recording two albums, their paths diverged. All because he decided to accept the offer to become a lecturer at the university. – I decided that if you want to be a scientist, it’s not appropriate to travel around Poland with a guitar in your hand and play a rocker on stage. It seemed unethical to the fans – he said years later about the reasons. However, he quickly regretted this decision and decided to act on his own. He wrote two songs and recorded them in the studio, but radio stations were not interested in them. This ultimately put an end to his dreams of a career as a musician and he decided to devote himself fully to academic work.

Although he planned to pursue a doctorate, he eventually withdrew from this idea to focus on gaining experience. First, he joined the editorial staff of Radio Dla Nasze, and then Program One of Polish Radio and Radio Three, where he hosted numerous programs. In the meantime, he started cooperation with TVP and started appearing on screen. As a presenter, he appeared, among others: in “Pytanie na śnidanie”, and also hosted music festivals in Sopot and Opole, and events such as Fryderyki and Telekamery. He also hosted many programs, including: “The world is turning” or “Hit, Hit Hura”. He gained the greatest popularity by commenting, which he has been doing since 1992.
Dark clouds hung over his television career shortly after he took Wojciech Mann’s place in . Apparently, as a protest against the dominant melody line in the game show, he did not appear in the recorded episodes, which led to his disciplinary dismissal. However, he did not say goodbye to his favorite formats permanently, because at the beginning of 2024 he announced that the new management had made him two lucrative proposals, which he accepted without hesitation.
