Founded in 1990 by Nattefrost and Nordavind, Carpathian Forest is a name that needs no introduction to listeners of the darkest variety of extreme metal. For nearly 35 years, thanks to their rather lively black metal, often played at medium and slow tempos, the Norwegians have earned the title of one of the top bands in the genre. This may be confirmed by, for example, cooperation with Avantgarde Music or the French Season of Mist labels.

The band’s last material so far, “Likeim” from 2018, was released under the aegis of Indie Recordings, and the release includes, among others: cover of “All My Friends Are Dead” from the Turbonegro repertoire. However, this is not the only song in the history of Carpathian Forest that the group took to the workshop and subjected it to their own interpretation – the album “Black Shining Leather” from 1998 included a rather unusual shot in the form of “A Forest” from The Cure’s repertoire, while on ” We’re Going to Hell for This, Over A Decade Of Perversions” (2002) features covers of such classics as Venom, Discharge and Darkthrone.
The band performed at the largest metal festivals such as Brutal Assault, Hellfest, Inferno and Mystic, and played tours including: alongside Behemoth, and some people surely still remember the concert with Gorgoroth in Krakow from 20 years ago. In March, the group led by Nattefrost will return to Poland for 3 concerts, which will take place in Poznań (9/03/2024), Katowice (10/03/2024) and Warsaw (11/03/2024).

Ragehammer and Odium Humani Generis will play against Carpathian Forest
The Norwegians in Poland will be accompanied by the black/thrash band Ragehammer, which, thanks to two major albums “The Hammer Doctrine and Into Certain Death”, has earned a place among the top Polish metal bands. Speed, aggression, blasphemy – all this characterizes the performances of the Krakow band.
All Carpathian Forest performances will be opened by Odium Humani Generis, which is becoming more and more confident on the black metal scene in Łódź. In 2022, the quartet performed on two European tours alongside Mgła and In Twilight’s Embrace, the latter of which they accompanied a year later on the Polish “Non Miserere MMXXIII” tour, and can also boast of participating in the London Cosmic Void Festival, concerts in Germany and supporting the Canadian Spectral Wound at their two concerts in our country last year.
