Two years ago, when the world learned that Russia had attacked Ukraine, everyone held their breath. Today in the “We have time” program, the guest is Iana Lutska, who told us what this day looked like from her perspective, as well as what her life in Poland looks like today.

The escalation of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. It was then that part of the Ukrainian nation decided to leave their homes to save their own lives and the lives of their loved ones. For many, our country was a safe haven. Iana Lutska left everything in Kiev. In the “We have time” program, she recalls that terrible day and talks about how she managed to rebuild her life in Poland. Listen to our entire conversation.

Iana Lutska recalls Russia’s attack on Ukraine. “Dear, we have to get ready because we’re running away from home.”

Neither of us knows what we would do when faced with the horrors of war. Iana Lutska shared her memories with us. She told what her day was like on February 24, 2022, when bombs started falling on Ukraine.

Everyone heard that there would be a war in Ukraine, but I didn’t believe it. I thought it was just talk. I remember that day I received a call from my husband’s driver, who said he couldn’t come to work today because the war had started. I checked Facebook and there were a lot of messages from friends who live all over Ukraine that bombs were falling in all cities. I remember walking up to my sons and saying: “Darlings, we have to get going because we’re running away from home.” (…) Explosions could be felt and heard everywhere. It was scary

– Iana tells us.

Like most people fleeing the war, Iana and her family had to face a completely new reality and the panic that gripped everyone. – People didn’t know what to do, there were queues at gas stations, we drove to Lviv all day. Then we spent three more days at the border with Poland to be able to cross it.

What is Iana’s life like in Poland today?

In 2017, Iana Lustka became Mrs. Ukraine International. The competition was attended by businesswomen who motivated others to act with their work and professional experience. Just after the war broke out in Ukraine, the owners of the competition decided to invite Iana to organize it in Poland and become its director. The first edition took place under her wings in 2023, and this year Mrs. will be elected for the first time. Poland and Mrs. Ukraine. In this competition, it is not the appearance that counts the most, but the experience and professional successes.

Women in Poland are achieving success, so why not show it and talk about it loudly?

– says Iana.
