On February 18, Maria Czerwonkówna-Resler, a valued artist and dancer of the “Mazowsze” group, died at the age of 92. She died in the Home of Veteran Artists of Polish Stages in Skolimów, where she lived for the last 13 years.

Maria Czerwonkówna-Resler was a dancer of the “Mazowsze” group founded in 1948 by Tadeusz Sygietyński and Mira Zimińska-Sygietyńska. She started her dancing career at the age of 15, but, as she reported to Super Express last year, to get into the group she had to meet a number of requirements. “Many conditions had to be met, including visual ones. You also had to have a sense of rhythm, acting ability, good hearing and musicality,” she told the portal.

Maria Czerwonkówna-Resler had to interrupt her career due to health problems. Later she started working in a bank. She became involved with a citizen of the United States, where she lived for some time. However, their marriage did not stand the test of time. The artist spent the last 13 years at the House of Veteran Artists of Polish Stages in Skolimów.

Members of the “Mazowsze” group said goodbye to the dancer. “A person who was always cheerful, always cordial and smiling. Today the dancer of the first group of the ‘Mazowsza’ ballet passed away, but for us she was simply Mrs. Maria, whom we remember from our last meetings, when we visited her every year with a bouquet of flowers on the International Dance Day and when she attended our concerts. After the last one, a few months ago, she said that it was her last dream – to see ‘Mazowsze’ on stage. She was so happy!” – reads the content of the statement published on Facebook.

Maria Czerwonkówna-Resler was a respected dancer both in Poland and around the world. The artist has performed in Europe, China and the United States.
