In the years 2000-2006, 2014 and 2016-2019, Dorota Rabczewska was the vocalist of the band Virgin. It was then that such films as “Sign of Peace”, “Szansa” and “Dżaga” were created. Since 2007, Doda has also been releasing solo albums. She is one of the most recognizable artists in the country and the winner of many awards, including: three European MTV Music Awards for the best Polish artist.

At the beginning, Doda associated her future not only with music, but also with acting. When she was 13, she joined Buffo and played in musicals. The director of the facility since 1992 is Janusz Józefowicz, a famous choreographer, screenwriter and director. Dorota did not remember their cooperation well and believed that people were afraid of Józefowicz. – It seems to me that Józek is not a good teacher and guardian. When I was 17 years old and I had the opportunity to leave there, I immediately took advantage of it – she said in one of the magazines. Janusz himself then decided to respond to her statement. – She was ambitious and impatient, she had pressure for solos, and I had better voices and better people in the theater then. Doda couldn’t stand it, he explained.

Rabczewska was afraid of Józefowicz. One conversation changed everything

Years later, Rabczewska raised this topic again. During a broadcast on RMF FM, one of the listeners asked whether the star had always been as confident as she is today. In response, Dorota referred to her adventure at Studio Buffo. , that at the time people perceived her as quiet and withdrawn. She was the youngest actress in the theater, so establishing a relationship with anyone was difficult. – I worked with people 10, 20 years older. I had a theater director who was very strict, so I was also stressed, she said.

One of her conversations with Józefowicz was a real life lesson for Doda. She wanted to ask him for a solo, but her mother refused to talk to him about it. She told her daughter to call Janusz herself. – I thought I was going to die of fear. When I dialed Janusz Józefowicz’s phone number, my hand was sweating because everyone knew how severe he was. I was so afraid of him, she recalled. After this situation, the star stopped being afraid and learned to cope even in the most stressful moments.
