“Neighborhood stalking” is not that rare. They fell victim to it: “there is only one way out”

Our home – our oasis where we can relax, laugh, spend time with our loved ones and simply be ourselves. That’s what most people think. Those who live in their own single-family houses can actually behave as they like, and no one will be bothered by it. Living in a block of flats, although for some people it is a dream come true, can have many disadvantages, the worst of which are annoying neighbors.

The neighbor constantly reported Ania and her friends to the cooperative, made reports and left notes on the staircase.

One of the users of the epoznan.pl portal asked a question on the forum: “Have any of you experienced neighborhood stalking? Persecution, persistent knocking on the wall, slamming doors, and when meetings took place in the staircase, it is insulting and frightening.” And as it turns out, she is not the only person who had to deal with “neighborhood stalking”. Ania, a woman in an interview with WP, admitted that she once had a neighbor who constantly reported her and other students living in the apartment to the cooperative or left notes on their staircase.

She could complain about everything, for example that our faucets were squealing too loudly and she couldn’t sleep. The maintenance man came to ask if we needed help with the taps and advised us what to do, while he himself was laughing at that woman.

Ania and Wiktoria wanted to take revenge on their neighbors, but in the long run it would not help. They did the one thing possible in this situation

A neighbor could report that someone was laughing too loud or that the sofa had been standing on the balcony for a while. Once, a woman poured mole into the pipes. Ania was woken up by such a terrible smell that she had to air the apartment for at least 3 days and take time off work because her vocal cords were irritated. There was a moment when Ania started taking revenge. She turned on music at full volume for a few hours – Skrillex or Penderecki. The neighbor was furious, it was during the day and she couldn’t do anything. 42-year-old Wiktoria also has unpleasant experiences. The couple who lived below it complained about noises that did not actually occur. “They accused me and my daughter of stomping all the time, of partying and, perhaps worst of all, of behaving badly. All lies, but they turned my life into hell.” – the woman recalls. Both Ania and Wiktoria knew that they were not guilty of anything, the administration also knew that it was all the neighbors’ inventions and slander, but everyone’s hands were tied. One thing helped in this situation – Wiktoria and Ania changed their apartment address. Only this made them breathe a sigh of relief and begin to live calmly and without stress.
