Netflix is ​​willing to invest in Polish productions, but not always successfully. “Kill Me, Darling” is another domestic romantic comedy that quickly became one of the most watched titles on the platform. Despite high viewing figures and being a hit also among foreign viewers, the reviews leave no doubts. What is the plot about?

On February 13, 2024, the Polish romantic comedy “Kill Me, Darling” directed by Filip Zylberg debuted. However, critics’ reviews are far from positive, which is due to, among others, plot devoid of sense and coherence. This did not discourage viewers who watched the film voraciously, making it a hit on the platform in various countries around the world.

“Kill Me Baby” conquers Netflix. What is the story about?

The plot of “Kill Me, Honey” focuses on a young married couple, Piotr and Natalia. We meet them at a time of serious financial problems that they have been struggling with for months. Just when they think there is no way out of their trouble, suddenly luck smiles at them. Winning money in the lottery is a chance to forget all their worries, but it also becomes the cause of further discord. The colossal sum is so overwhelming to both of them that they don’t even think about sharing it with their other half. They begin to plot against each other to eliminate each other. Will the intrigue of any of them end successfully?

There is no doubt that the interest in the film was influenced by the fabulous views. The photos were taken mainly in picturesque towns of the Beskid Sądecki Mountains, including: on Lake Rożnowskie near Gródek nad Dunajcem, Sienna or Kurów. The cast also turned out to be promising. The main roles were played by Weronika Książkiewicz and , and the other characters were played by, among others, Agnieszka Więdłocha, Piotr Rogucki, Mikołaj Roznerski, Paulina Gałązka, Mirosław Baka or . The problem, however, is that “Kill Me, Honey” is not surprising even for a moment, because all the subsequent decisions of the characters are predictable and often meaningless.

Despite this, many of them decided to watch it anyway, bringing the title to the top in the viewership rankings. Only on Valentine’s Day, i.e. the day after the premiere, the film was released in as many as 9 countries around the world, and in several dozen others it was in the top five of the platform’s rankings. It also aroused interest among the domestic audience, becoming number one in the TOP10 list of the best films in Poland and, what’s more, it has held this position for several days.
