Let the one who has never been nervous when renovating an apartment or building a house throw a stone. And although interior design and selecting equipment seem to be quite pleasant activities, unfortunately the finishing work itself can be really tiring.. There is no chance for improvisation here, because any inappropriate move can cause what has been planned for years to be ruined in an instant. The proof of this is the story of our reader who, if she hadn’t bought it again, would not have bought a flat from a developer and would not have renovated a flat on the secondary market.
“The 2% loan fell like a bolt from the blue and made distant dreams of buying an apartment quickly become a reality”
“I am the new owner of a beautiful studio apartment in Warsaw, and in fact, my husband and I are the owners of the apartment, because I would probably never get a mortgage loan on my own. This loan is 2 percent. it fell on us like a bolt from the blue and made distant dreams of buying a flat quickly become a reality. And at the beginning there were a lot of smiles and positive emotions, but that’s normal. We took out the loan in the first month of the program, i.e. in July 2023. We were supposed to pick up the apartment in January. When we were waiting for a studio apartment, we decided to look for an architect who would help us arrange these empty walls as functionally as possible. However, the prices really surprised us and we gave up. The architects wanted up to PLN 10,000 to complete the project, which was absolutely absurd to us.
“Every visit to the store ended in lamentation because we didn’t expect it would cost so much.”
When we picked up the apartment, it wasn’t any better. In fact, we received it a month after the planned date because there were a lot of corrections. The wall is a disgrace, there are lots of scratches on the windows and the uneven screed. It’s not worth talking. Every visit to the store ended in lamentation because we didn’t expect it to cost so much. Instead of finishing the apartment, we finish ourselves. It’s so expensive it makes me want to cry. You can’t renovate an apartment from a developer with PLN 50,000. A regular shower with a linear drain costs almost PLN 4,000. I won’t mention the kitchen, which is to be built by a carpenter. He asked for PLN 20,000, and for this you need to buy equipment. Without a cash loan, we will not be able to renovate the apartment. Now we are renting an apartment in PÅ‚ock, so I really want to live in my own place, but I don’t know when that will happen. How to renovate your apartment without going crazy? I’ll take any advice!
Daria.
