The arrangement of trees around the house should be carefully considered at the stage of construction and planning of the plot. Let’s remember that there are trees that grow really big, and this may be the first step towards problems. What species are better not to plant near the house?

Few people know that some trees can destroy the house and damage the foundations. Others are very littery and instead of bringing joy, they cause anxiety and frustration. Which trees are not suitable for close proximity?

  • Oak. This is an extremely large tree, but it needs a lot of space to grow properly. It has spreading branches that block windows, and thick roots can damage foundations.
  • Poplar. Allergy sufferers hate this tree. It is very dusty and dirty, and is not very durable. If there is a stronger wind, it may break and fall on the house.
  • Pine and spruce are characterized by a spreading root system. If they reach a great height, their roots may threaten the stability of the building.
  • Willow. It is characterized by thick and spreading branches, which, however, break easily they can fall on the car or roof.

What trees should not be planted on the plot? Avoid these species because they sterilize the soil

Some species should also not grow in the garden if we want to maintain a nice and green lawn and other plants and shrubs. Common hornbeam, common hornbeam and silver birch sterilize the soil, and through their extensive root system they take away almost all nutrients. We certainly won’t grow a beautiful lawn under them, and the bushes planted near them will quickly begin to wither.
