The plebiscite awarded Poles’ favorites, and the gala itself was honored with performances by well-known and popular ones. Kortez, Monika Brodka, Kwiat Jabłoni, Daria from Śląsk and Daria Zawiałow herself sang. Surprisingly, she was the only one who experienced technical problems.
Daria Zawiałow’s double failure at Empik’s Bestsellers
In recent years, Empik’s Bestsellers have been turned into a real gala, reminiscent of Polityka’s Passports and even foreign award shows. Live performances have become a must-see element of the show. However, Daria Zawiałow was not lucky this year – the equipment failed during her songs.
The first song – “Z nami na chatie” from the album “Girl Pop” passed without any problems. During the second one – “Fifi Hollywood” – the sound system went out. All you could hear in the room was the playback, to which the singer quickly reacted:
Well, there was a chorus and a loop. Such things happen, we are live – she said from the stage.
Unfortunately, the exact same thing happened on the second attempt. Zawiałow quickly proposed a solution to this problem:
Dear friends, the same situation again. Maybe we won’t perform anymore, or we’ll just play guitars?
The third attempt turned out to be the lucky one – three times a charm. This time everything worked out. The singer later commented on the situation on stage on social media. “There’s nothing like live performances, he he,” she wrote on Instagram. And in Instastory she added a broader explanation:
Thanks for today, it was great! It was an interesting evening, there were some technical problems, but I think we somehow managed. Thank you for being with us!

Empik’s plebiscite awards the creators who enjoyed the greatest popularity last year. This applies to the most important categories of culture: books, music, films and TV series, but also the Internet. The awards included: our candidate for the Oscar nomination “Peasants”, “1670”, Kortez and “The Monet Family”, i.e. Weronika Anna Marczak.
