Generously subsidized TVP from taxpayers’ money has accustomed employees to certain standards. Perfectly equipped television studios, full service, world-class quality – all this is also the result of the PiS-nominated TVP presidents. And although TV Republika could count on a generous supply of advertising from state-owned companies over the years, it did not manage to reach the same level. And this is where the problems begin.
Danuta Holecka has something to complain about on Republika TV
When TVP Info was temporarily closed in mid-December last year and “Wiadomości” turned into “7.30”, some former employees had to look for other employment. Within a few years, they became the faces of PiS. They found a safe haven in TV Republika – the smaller and much poorer sister of the old TVP. Danuta Holecka quickly became one of the main faces. She was given the lead of the equivalent of “Wiadomości”, but the difference in television finances is clearly visible. Poor lighting, numerous technical problems, the need to use the same wardrobe as for “Wiadomości” – these are all things that Holecka has not had to face for years. Unofficially, it is known that she is not happy about this.
Holecka was very nice at first. Then, as the host of “Today”, she pushed the old presenter of Republika, who had previously been considered a star, off the stage. Over time, she started making more noise. Because at TVP it was handled by a whole team of people, while in our country programs are made by several people. There is no service for the stars: make-up artist, hairdresser, coffee person. For her, it must be a partisan act – said one of the Republika TV employees in an interview with “Gazeta Wyborcza”.
When the viewership of TV Republika increased thanks to her, Holecka decided to slowly introduce some changes and facilities that she had become accustomed to on TVP. , first of all, she told me to invest in studio lighting because “according to her, it aged her.”

Regardless of the fact that the number of viewers has increased significantly, private television can no longer count on a constant inflow of money from state advertising – these ended with the change of government and company management boards. who want to present their products on Republika TV.
