The old recreation center is being rebuilt and turned into a luxury hotel. Formerly known as the Eagle’s Nest, the hotel complex is located in the Owl Mountains region in Poland. It was designed as the longest hotel in Poland and will welcome guests again this year.

The Eagle’s Nest was once a popular resort that was extremely popular among tourists and lovers of beautiful landscapes. Its picturesque location in the Owl Mountains, rich history and luxurious amenities attracted thousands of guests and foreigners. After closing the complex for a long time, many people are looking forward to its reopening.

The “Orle Gniazdo” Conference Center hotel in Szczyrk is undergoing a significant metamorphosis from 2021, transforming from an old, outdated PRL-style building into a modern complex called Mercure Szczyrk Resort. In the past, this hotel belonged to the Silesian Huta Katowice, and was a popular place to relax for employees of this company. Currently, it is owned by a private investor and will become a showcase of hotels in Szczyrk and the entire Beskids.

The design of the new hotel structure, resembling a huge eagle’s nest from the mountain side, was developed by the architectural offices Q2 Studio and Tremend, thus referring to the historical name of the facility. The investor is Beskid Resort Properties, which aims to create a modern and attractive hotel complex, attracting tourists from the entire region.

Mercure Szczyrk Resort, a modern hotel complex in Szczyrk, will offer 447 rooms, each of which will delight not only with its interior design, but above all with a unique view of the picturesque Szczyrk and the panorama of the Silesian Beskid Mountains. The design of this hotel is distinguished by its ergonomic solutions, which were created with respect for nature and in response to the great tourist potential of the region. Additionally, this building is one of the highest places in Poland, located at an altitude of 660 meters above sea level, and the largest multi-functional hotel in the capital of the Polish mountains.

It has an impressive total area of ​​35,000 square metersincluding 2,500 square meters of event space, 2,340 square meters dedicated to gastronomy, 230 square meters of spa zone and 2,500 square meters of modern swimming pools.

Mercure Szczyrk Resort opening date? Soon

As officially announced on Mercure Szczyrk Resort’s social media it will be put into operation in the summer of 2024. The entire building is to have 9 floors and 330 meters in length, making it the longest hotel in Poland.
