Filming of the movie “Azken erromantikoak” begins

David Pérez Sañudo (Anne) has begun filming his second feature film, Azken erromantikoak. The script for this adaptation of the novel by Txani Rodríguez The last romantics (2021 Euskadi Literature Award) is written by Sañudo himself and Marina Parés, winners of the Goya for best adapted script in 2021 for Anne. Its protagonist is the actress Look at Gaztañaga.
According to its creators, it is “a luminous film about the twists and turns that life sometimes takes, offering second chances. A story of improvement, companionship and love that invites us to reflect on human beings and their relationship with others.”
Filming, in Basque, is scheduled for seven weeks in Gernika, the film’s main setting, Lisbon, Ronda (Málaga) and Seville.
David Pérez Sañudo believes that the novel “has been the ideal breeding ground for developing many of our concerns: characters adrift in a hostile context, a mix of genres, a portrait of a Basque town in the area where I grew up… .”.
“Azken erromantikoak”, co-production of the production companies La Claqueta PC, from Seville, and Irusoin, has the participation of EITB.
