Seven years ago, the film adaptation of a made-up internet story about a father-fisherman called “My Old Man is a Fishing Fanatic” premiered. The text by Malcom XD was published in the form of a paste, i.e. a humorous story, which is later eagerly copied and distributed by Internet users.
Now it turns out that his next paste will have its own movie. The creators of the above-described film “Fanatyk” informed that they had received funding for another production of this type. This time, they will take the popular paste about Uncle Foil, which was also written by Malcolm XD.

On Tuesday, February 5, the Polish Film Institute shared the list of productions that will receive a subsidy under the PISF Operational Program. The so-called the second priority of the project covers the production of feature films and funding was recommended for five productions. The list also includes “Wujek Folarz”, which was submitted by Film Production Sp. z o. o

The director of “Fanatyk”, Michał Tylka, is working on the latest adaptation of Malcolm XD’s paste. He is accompanied by Filip K. Kasperaszak, who was the screenwriter of the film “F***ing Borholm” and the series “Ultraviolet”. In an interview with the portal in 2016, the director of the previous film adaptation already spoke about the fact that he would also like to adapt “Uncle Folarz” into a film.
I really like copypastas about Uncle Foliarz and Popek and poetry – both are by Malcolm XD. Wujek Folarz seems to be a great project to implement, perhaps we will work with him in the future, said Tylka.
The narrator of “” is a 15-year-old boy whose one of his uncles is a fanatic of conspiracy theories and is trying to prepare for the coming end of the world by gathering supplies of food and necessary equipment in a shelter he has prepared.
