In its 38th edition, the Goya Awards have nominated the Spanish ‘indie’ being represented by singers such as Xoel Lopez, Rigoberta Bandini Valeria Castro or the Vetusta Morla groupwho seek to win the ‘cabezón’ for best original song on February 10 in Valladolid, as they did the previous year Leiva for ‘Very sorry’.
The Academy has selected the original song created by Old Morla and Valeria Castro for the film ‘El amor de Andrea’, by Manuel Martín Cuenca. This nomination is the only one for the film and this time is Vetusta Morla’s second collaboration with Manuel Martín Cuenca, after having worked together on ‘La Hija’. Also, in this edition Rigoberta Bandini is present with her song ‘I only want love’, created for the film ‘I’m loving you madly’, by debutant Alejandro Marín. The film has four other nominations: best new actor (La Dani), best new actor (Omar Banana), best original screenplay and best new director.
Another of the candidates to win the Goya for best original song is the Galician singer Xoel Lopeznominated for the first time, for his song ‘Echo’ in the film ‘Friends until death’ by Javier Veiga. The film stars Marta Hazas, Mauricio Ochmann and Veiga himself. The singer’s nomination is the only chance the film has of winning a ‘big head’.
In this category, there is also the candidacy of Marina Herlop for her song in ‘Chinese’, by Arantxa Echevarría, who has four nominations (best new actor and two nominations for best new actress). Finally, the film ‘The permanent image’, by Laura Ferrés, has managed to make the topic ‘La gallinita’ by Fernando Moresi and Sergio Bertran be among the five nominated for best original song.
C. Tangana
On the other hand, C.Tangana will also be present at the Goya, although in his case it will not be in the musical category, since the artist has managed to have his documentary ‘This excessive ambition’which addresses what their tour ‘Without singing or tuning’ has been like, starts as one of the favorites for best documentary film, in a category that also includes ‘Caleta Palace’, by José Antonio Hergueta and Leticia Salvago; ‘With you, with you and without me’, by Amaya Villar and Carlo D’Ursi; ‘Iberia, infinite nature’, by Arturo Menor and Cristina Menor; and ‘While it’s you, the here and now of Carme Elías’, by Claudia Pinto.
