Sharp tension on Polish Radio. Marek Suski was furious: “Vigilantes!”

A tense atmosphere prevailed during Tuesday’s meeting of the Polish Radio program council. There was a sharp dispute between Marek Suski, Paweł Majcher and Juliusz Kaszyński.

On Tuesday, January 30, a meeting of the Polish Radio program council was held. According to the regulations, such meetings should be held once a month, with the last one convened at the end of December 2023. Paweł Majcher and Juliusz Kaszyński were not present, as they stated that the Resolutions of the Program Council were “not binding on them”.

Tension during the Polish Radio council. Suski left the room

The new president of Polskie Radio and an advisor to the management board appeared at the January meeting of the council at the moment when Marek Suski planned to end the meeting. The presence of Majcher and Kaszyński angered the chairman of the council, who stated that “uninvited guests” had entered the room. “Uninvited guests came to the meeting of the Polish Radio program council. Even though they were not invited and I did not give them the floor, they got into the microphone. Due to the illegal invasion and disruption of the program council meeting, I was forced to close the meeting. The attack on public media continues,” said Suski press.pl portal.

Jan Ordyński, a member of the program board of Polish Radio, told Wirtualne Media about what happened in the room. “There was a row at the program council. It started with the approval of the protocols, then information about the Drivers’ Radio. Finally, free motions on various matters,” he said.

Later, Marek Suski asked the audience if they would like to talk about anything else. Then Paweł Majcher, the new president of Polish Radio, and Juliusz Kaszyński, advisor to the management board, entered the room. “They wanted to present their plans for the Polish Radio, and Marek Suski said that ‘these are illegally appointed people, self-appointed.’ He put on a hat and left the meeting together with Elżbieta Królikowska-Avis and Jędrzej Lipski,” added Jan Ordyński.

When Marek Suski left the meeting, only Paweł Majcher, Juliusz Kaszyński and Jan Ordyński remained in the room. The rest of the members participated in the meeting via instant messaging.
