An impressive painting located in the party wall of a building in Fene (A Coruña) has achieved the title of best mural in the world in a contest organized by the Street Art Cities platform. The work, nine stories high, captures the image of a cellist playing her instrument.
The impressive mural, the work of Madrid artist Sfhir, competed with 50 other proposals. The title is a true pride for the inhabitants of the Galician town. As can be seen in the video above, the “cello music” filters throughout the neighborhood patio. The “neighbor” depicted in the mural spends her days and nights playing, but doesn’t bother anyone
As the artist explains, the work was painted on a “horrible” canvas: one of those buildings that abound in Fene, the Galician shipyard town. “Is a slightly orgasmic feeling because it’s so much effort… It’s a very nice feeling,” highlights Sfhir, who adds that “you’re not exhausted and you don’t fall to the ground because you have so much adrenaline from what you’re doing and seeing the result…”.
The delicate hands of music touch the clothesline ropes. The painting is a tribute to an old party hall, as a neighbor explains to laSexta: “A lot of groups came here, from Miguel Ríos…”. In short, music is immortalized in this original façade. You can obtain more information by consulting the video on these lines.
